It was one of the most famous landmarks of Sheung Wan, it brought great memories to the previous generation. 

 

The current Western Market was the North Block of the original building.  In 1906, after the removal of the Harbour Office, the North Block was built in accordance to Edwardian-style using special materials like red brick and granite.

Hollywood Road was built in 1844 and was the second road to be built when the colony of  Hong  Kong was founded.The first gallery to open was Plum Blossoms in 1987 and many galleries opened in the area gradually, turning it into an artistic place.

Wing Lee street was originally under the redevelopment plan of Sheung Wan and would be demolished and rebuilt to contemporary residential flats. However, with the award-winning movie, the Echoes of the Rainbow, there were great public requests for preservaing the nostalgic Wing Lee Street as it revealed the past living styles of Sheung Wan people.

Cleverly Street
Pop into one of the streets in Sheung Wan to meet different poeple.

PMQ, the former Police Married Quarters, is a Grade 3 Historic Building located in Aberdeen Road. It was once the Central School which our Father of the nation, Dr. Sun Yat-sen has studied in. Now, it has been revitalized into a creative landmark. It is a successful revitalization project in Hong Kong that it can both benefits cultural and economic development.

When I first saw the street name, I thought it was something related to clever people. However, Cleverly Street is actually named after the surveyor general Charles Saint George Cleverly. It is a street near the Western Market Fram Terminus. Although it is not a very long street, there are a lot of special people with different backgrounds.
